Is the staff as good as Molly?
Absolutely! Each esthetician participates in extensive hands-on training with Molly and DMK experts. No therapist is given a client until they have given multiple treatments to Molly and received her approval.
What products do we use?
We use DMK skin care. This paramedical line is cruelty-free, and most of the products are safe for pregnant clients. DMK facials are perfect for acne-prone skin, dry/sensitive skin and mature skin.
"DMK believes that the origin of most skin conditions is a result of disharmony within the skin. Using the principles of biochemistry, DMK has formulated a range of treatments and products designed to educate skin to perform like youthful healthy skin. By matching formulations with the body’s chemistry, the skin is encouraged to respond in a positive manner. DMK’s revolutionary concept of REMOVE, REBUILD, PROTECT, MAINTAIN aims to match an individual’s biochemistry with the appropriate skin therapy. Botanical-based paramedical products make up the DMK skin care program."
What is Paramedical?
Your average facial and cosmetic product work topically on the skin whereas ‘paramedical’ treatments revise the functioning of the skin by regulating dysfunctions that cause the skin to look as it does, therefore instigating better skin functioning.
Paramedical skin care does not focus on just a single condition, it aims to encourage skin to work at its full capacity. All Skin By Molly estheticians undergo paramedical training.
What is Transdermal?
All DMK nourishing creams are transdermal, meaning the products penetrate into the voids of the skin where the nutrients can be stored. The cells can then uptake these nutrients as needed.
How Does Microcurrent Therapy Work?
Each tissue type in your body has its own signature electrical frequency, which may be disrupted by injury or disease. Microcurrent therapy restores normal frequencies within the cells, resulting in remarkable improvements in inflammation and function. Microcurrent re-educates the muscles in the face and increases circulation to improve tone and firmness of the skin. Best of all, results are cumulative.
At the cellular level, microcurrent therapy stimulates a dramatic increase in ATP, the energy that fuels all biochemical functions in the body. It also bumps up protein synthesis, which is necessary for tissue repair.
What Is a Typical Microcurrent Treatment Session Like?
When you undergo microcurrent therapy, you sit comfortably while electrodes are placed at strategic locations to direct the currents to the targeted tissues. A hydrating, nourishing gel is applied to conduct the current.
While you may feel tiny muscle twitches, minor shocks here and there, the treatment is mostly painless. Most of the sensations are sub-sensory so many clients feel nothing.
A treatment course typically involves several sessions, and benefits accrue over time. Microcurrent therapy is safe, FDA-approved and has no significant adverse effects. However, it is not recommended for patients who have pacemakers, are pregnant or have epilepsy. If you are getting injectables like fillers and botox you must wait two weeks to get a microcurrent facial.
